Geo Logs (Coir Logs)

Product Code: AIGV-CP-GL | Category: Bio-Engineering Substrates

Geo Logs, commonly known as Coir Logs or Bio Logs, are environmentally friendly and sustainable products designed for soil erosion control, riverbank stabilization, and wetland restoration. Made from 100% natural, compressed coconut mattress coir fibers, they are encased in high-strength, machine-twisted coir twine netting or durable polypropylene mesh.

These cylindrical logs provide immediate structural reinforcement along riverbanks, shoreline slopes, and construction embankments, acting as a natural sediment trap and moisture-retaining foundation for plant root establishment.

As the coir mattress fiber slowly biodegrades over several years, it converts into organic soil material while the established vegetation permanently takes over shoreline and slope stabilization.

Applications

  • Riverbank, canal, and streambank erosion protection
  • Lakeshore, pond, and coastal shoreline stabilization
  • Steep slope stabilization and hillside soil reinforcement
  • Wetland restoration, bio-engineering projects, and riparian buffer zones
  • Sediment control at highway construction and mining sites
  • Stormwater runoff channels, check dams, and drainage swales

Advantages

  • 100% Natural & Biodegradable: Eco-friendly composition ensures zero ecological damage, blending naturally into the surrounding aquatic environment.
  • High Tensile Strength & Flexibility: Conforms easily to irregular contours along shorelines, stream bends, and uneven slopes.
  • Superior Moisture Retention: Retains essential moisture and nutrients to foster rapid natural vegetation growth and deep root anchoring.
  • Effective Wave & Flow Dissipation: Absorbs and dissipates hydraulic energy from water flow, surface runoff, and wave action without washing away.
  • Extended Functional Longevity: High-density mattress fiber core maintains structural stability for 2 to 5 years until vegetation is self-sustaining.
  • Easy Installation: Easily secured using wooden stakes and coir twine without requiring heavy industrial machinery.
